Paros Armenian Saturday School

Paros Armenian Saturday school has been operating in Montreal since 2013 with the support of the First Armenian Evangelical Church of Montreal.

Our mission is to create an environment where it becomes possible to transmit to our young generations, the Armenian alphabet along with the culture.

As Armenians living outside their motherland, the Armenian language remains a powerful tool to which the youth can rely on, to preserve their Armenian identity in the Diaspora. Also, in order to have a strong and unionized Armenia, children need to learn to develop a sense of belonging to their Armenian heritage, culture, and even more so to their motherland.

Paros Armenian Saturday school welcomes students from 7-12 years old. In this school, both Eastern and Western Armenian languages are offered. Our program is specifically tailored to Armenian children living outside of their motherland.

The Armenian language consists of learning how to read, how to write, an introduction to Armenian literature and to our popular authors. The Armenian history part is suitable for children; it covers important dates and events. The history of the four kingdoms of Armenia along with their respective dates are presented, ranging from the very beginning right up to contemporary times. During the periods dedicated to culture, kids are learning Armenian songs and they also get familiarized with Armenian artists, painters and music composers. Our curriculum is designed to be interesting and informative.
